Alexei Navalny, Putin’s biggest opponent, has suspectedly been poisoned.
On a flight from Siberia to Moscow, Alexei started feeling very unwell. After making an emergency landing, Alexei was brought to a local hospital in Siberia and put into a coma. Some suspect his tea might have been poisoned.
WHO IS HE?
Alexei Navalny is a prominent Russian Politician, and a big critic of Putin and the Kremlin (aka the Russian government). He is also an anti-corruption activist, and many describe him as the man Putin fears most.
Currently, doctors are refusing to speak with Alexei’s family and team about his condition, and what substance he was poisoned with. Alexei’s team is trying to fly him to a different hospital in Germany, where they trust doctors more. The doctors are refusing to let him leave the hospital, stating that it would be too dangerous for Alexei’s health.
Over the past decade, other critics of Putin (journalists, spies, agents) have claimed to have been poisoned as well.
